Community Service Boards
A Community Services Board—also called a Behavioral Health Authority (CSB/BHA) in some areas—is a local agency that provides mental health, developmental, and substance use disorder services in the community. In Virginia, CSBs serve as the main entry point for publicly funded behavioral health and developmental services. CSB/BHA’s help individuals access Virginia’s Developmental Disability Medicaid Waiver services. Visit our Crisis Services Page to learn about Crisis Services offered by your CSB/BHA.
