We offer a wide variety of programs for autistic individuals of all ages and abilities. We recognize that everyone’s experience is unique, and we intentionally and creatively structure our programs to embrace the diverse needs and strengths of all individuals/participants. Each family will complete a participant information form to ensure we are providing the most engaging activities and appropriate support for each participant.

2024 Camp Details
Campers will enjoy a dynamic blend of STEAM, movement, and social skills activities, with a focus on FUN! ASCV’s highly skilled, engaging, and compassionate staff partners with different community organizations to offer a wide variety of activities during our camps. From free play and sensory exploration, to guided movement experiences, science experiments, crafts, cooking, and more – there is truly something for every participant to engage in. We recognize that everyone’s experience is unique, and we intentionally and creatively structure our programs to embrace the diverse needs and strengths of all individuals/participants. CAMP SENSORY RATING GUIDE
- Touch: 2 There are a variety of outdoor and indoor activities prepared but children will only access them if interested.
- Taste: 1 A snack shall be sent in by the caregiver. One allergen friendly cooking activity will be prepared with kids weekly.
- Sound: 3 Volume may be slightly loud due to peers having fun in indoor gym space. There are designated quiet sensory spaces.
- Smell: 1 The playground is outdoors. Food will be cooked during mealtimes for some.
- Sight: 3 A variety of activities will be present but not limited to art activities, motor activities, STEAM activities, and more.
FEES & FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
- ASCV Members: $200/participant/week
- Non-Members: $250/participant/week
SCHOLARSHIPS
- To ensure a fair registration process, spots are being held in each camp to accommodate families applying for scholarships.
- Limited scholarships are available, and applications will be reviewed as they are received. Individual scholarship amounts will be determined based on the number of applications received.
- Submitting a scholarship application does NOT guarantee your spot in camp. An ASCV staff member will reach out once your application has been reviewed.
- Due to the high volume of applications received, it may take a few days for your application to be reviewed. We appreciate your understanding!
DARS VIRGINIA LIFESPAN RESPITE VOUCHER PROGRAM
ASCV’s summer camps are eligible for The Virginia Lifespan Respite Voucher Program. This program provides reimbursement vouchers to Virginia caregivers for the cost of temporary, short-term respite care provided to individuals of any age, with a documented disability or medical condition.
The goal of this program is to increase access and reduce barriers to respite care, as well as enhance education and awareness about respite care. Respite funding is limited to $595.00 per family per year through June 2026. Learn more about the program HERE and reach out to us at [email protected] for more information on using this program.
PLEASE NOTE: Submitting an initial inquiry regarding the program does NOT guarantee your spot in summer camp. Please email a staff member for more information and next steps.
CAMP REFUND POLICY
- For cancellations received more than two weeks in advance of your child’s first day of camp, a 75% refund shall be provided.
- For cancellations received more than one week in advance of your child’s first day of camp, a 50% refund shall be provided.
- No refunds will be provided for cancellations received within one week in advance of your child’s first day of camp.
- Refunds will not be issued for non-attendance on a scheduled day of camp.
Program Code of Conduct
By registering for and/or joining programs or events, participants are considered to have to have provided their consent to agree to the policies of the Autism Society of Central Virginia (ASCV). Participants have the right to revoke their consent by unregistering or not participating in a program/event at any time.
Code of Conduct
- Participants are expected to treat each other with respect, kindness and empathy.
- Harassment, discrimination, violence, hate speech, or any form of bullying will not be tolerated.
- If any participant violates the code of conduct, they will be notified immediately, and we reserve the right to take any action needed, up to including removal from the program and/or asked not to participate in future events.
- If you witness any of the above being violated, please inform the event program staff immediately.
Participant Privacy Expectations
- All participants and facilitators are expected to respect the privacy and confidentiality of others participating in programs.
- Participants are free to share their experiences, ask questions, and engage in discussions voluntarily.
- Discussions and personal information shared during programs should not be shared outside of the program without explicit consent.
- If participants are jeopardizing or compromising other participants’ privacy and/or confidentiality without knowing, they will be notified and disciplinary action will be taken.
- If you witness any of the above being violated, please inform the event program staff immediately.
