Trunk or Treat will be our first member gathering at ASCV’s new home — the Autism Community Hub.
Trunk or Treat will be our first member gathering at ASCV’s new home — the Autism Community Hub.
Trunk or Treat is just one of the ways ASCV members connect throughout the year. Membership brings families together through programs, events, resources and a community where everyone belongs.
We’re inviting community partners, local businesses and organizations to join the fun by hosting a trunk and connecting with ASCV families.
It’s free to participate and a great way to connect with 400+ individuals and families in Central Virginia’s autism community.
A few helpful details before you join us.
Advance registration is required through Mindbody, and each person attending must be registered individually. When registering, choose a one-hour time slot between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. The time slots help us space arrivals for a more sensory-friendly experience.
Not at all! Costumes are encouraged but not required. Come dressed up or come as you are.
The event takes place completely outdoors with limited shade. A covered sensory tent by INclude will be available for anyone who needs a quieter space or a break. Families are also encouraged to bring any sensory supports that may be helpful, such as headphones, sunglasses, hats or fidgets.
Meet local first responders and explore safety resources for individuals and families. First responders may be wearing helmets, masks or other gear that can look unfamiliar or frightening up close. Some vehicles may have flashing lights or signals, and you may hear noisy radios. Families are welcome to visit only the booths that feel manageable and skip anything that feels overwhelming.
The event will take place outdoors, but restrooms inside the Autism Community Hub will be available during the event. The Hub will be under renovation, so other indoor areas will not be open to guests.
