We had a marvelous May at the ASCV!
On May 18, 2024, over 1,000 dedicated participants, sponsors, and vendors came together for our 22nd annual ASCV 5K & Family Fun Day! Our supporters braved soggy weather for a morning to honor and celebrate our local autism community.
Through the dedication and generosity of our fundraising teams, participants, sponsors, and community partners, we raised nearly $180,000! These funds make a meaningful difference in expanding ASCV’s critical programs and services. Take a peek at just a few of the programs you supported below!
In May, we wrapped up several spring series, including our FitAbility Club with Apex Jiu Jitsu and Special Olympics, and our Teen Adventure Club with Beyond Boundaries!
We kicked off a 6-week Pickleball series with Jacob’s Chance and Hanover Parks & Rec.
We laughed together during improv workshops with Bridge 9 Theater, designed and molded robot houses with Art on Wheels, and created our own screenprinted t-shirts from start to finish with InkT VA!
We ended the month with a Professional Networking Event for local disability and inclusion professionals, as well as our annual Summer Shindig for ASCV Members at Camp Hanover! Members came out to celebrate the start of the summer, and were able to enjoy one the best weather days of the year splashing in the pool, playing games, exploring the outdoors, and getting to know one another over a delicious meal of pizza and Italian Ice.
