Child Care Volunteer Help provide onsite child care for children with autism and their siblings during our monthly meetings for parents and caregivers. Enjoy interacting with children with and without autism, work alongside other childcare volunteers and take guidance from leaders and child care coordinator; focus full attention on children at all times; assist with clean up and general organization; respect confidentiality of children and families; be ready to have fun! Friday
6:30-9:15pm
Once a month during school year River Road United Methodist Church 18 years old or older; responsible and mature; some babysitting or childcare experience preferred
Bowling Buddy Serve as a buddy to a child/teen/adult with autism; actively engage the child/teen/adult with autism by befriending them and talking with them, helping the child/teen with bowling as needed. Third Sunday of each month
12:45-4:45pm(1.5 hour shifts typically)
Once a month during the school year Alternates between a Bowling Alley in western Henrico County, and a Bowling Alley in Chesterfield County 16 years old or older; responsible and mature
LEGO/Game Club Helper Helping to set up Legos and Board Games, engaging the child/student with autism during Lego/Game play by befriending them and talking with them, helping to pack up at the end of the session Saturdays
10am-noon
Twice a month YMCA Chester & YMCA Downtown 14 years old or older; responsible and mature
Volunteer Photographers Attending any of our various events and capturing the event in photos. Varies Varies Varies 14 years old or older; responsible and mature
